D-Sight and Visual PROMETHEE are two different software. D-Sight is marketed by a private company named Decision Sights. Visual PROMETHEE is developed at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics & Management of the ULB (Université Libre de Bruxelles) by one of the authors of the methods. It is currently a free beta download but very close to the 1.0 release.

Both software implement the PROMETHEE and GAIA methods (actually D-Sight makes it possible to use a somewhat questionable mix of outranking and utility methods).

Visual PROMETHEE includes several new developments such as:

  • a simple three-level hierarchical structure for organizing criteria,
  • the PROMETHEE Rainbow for disaggregating the PROMETHEE II ranking,
  • a 3D GAIA analysis for difficult cases,
  • GAIA-Webs as a smart alternative to action profiles and spiderwebs,
  • Visual Stability Intervals to better analyze the robustness of the PROMETHEE II ranking,
  • Performance Analysis to compare two subsets of criteria (input/output analysis),
  • PROMap interaction with Google Maps for geo-localized actions,
  • smart assistants for helping the user to setup the problem: preference function choice, criteria hierarchy, ...

Visual PROMETHEE can be downloaded from
